Acceptable Use Policy
This policy applies to professional contact data, Prospector, email verification, and sending tools provided by Joz Database. Customers are responsible for confirming that their intended use is lawful and permitted by their service providers.
Permitted use
- Relevant and proportionate business-to-business research, sales, recruitment, and professional outreach.
- CRM enrichment, record validation, and internal business intelligence.
- Use supported by an appropriate lawful basis in every applicable jurisdiction.
Prohibited use
- Spam, deceptive messages, harassment, phishing, fraud, impersonation, or unlawful surveillance.
- Consumer credit, insurance, employment, housing, tenant-screening, or eligibility decisions.
- Targeting, profiling, or segmenting people based on health or medical conditions, disability, religion, political views, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, union membership, precise location, financial hardship, or other sensitive personal characteristics.
- Inferring sensitive traits or life events from professional data, browsing activity, purchases, donations, public records, or combinations of otherwise non-sensitive fields.
- Building or using audiences of patients, job seekers, debtors, donors, voters, children, or other vulnerable or consumer groups for unsolicited promotion.
- Reselling, publishing, sharing, or exposing the data to unauthorized third parties.
- Using addresses obtained through harvesting, dictionary attacks, or other unlawful collection methods.
- Contacting a person who has opted out, objected, or appears on an applicable suppression list.
Customer obligations
- Use professional-role data only to reach people in a relevant professional or business context.
- Identify the sender accurately and avoid deceptive subject lines or routing information.
- Provide required notices, a working unsubscribe method, and a valid business address where applicable.
- Honor opt-outs promptly and retain suppression records so contacts are not accidentally re-added.
- Secure downloaded data, restrict access, and delete it when no longer required.
- Confirm that CRM, email, and other platforms permit the intended use of third-party data.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected abuse, restrict downloads or sending, suspend or terminate accounts, and preserve or disclose information where required by law. Report misuse or submit a privacy request through our Contact Us page.
